One night, earlier this summer, I had the sudden urge to try making a simple dress. Though I love projects, making clothes "from scratch" is not my thing & I typically stay far away!
But on this particular night, I was determined to whip up a little something:) Inspired by this & this, I immediately envisioned a hippy, flowy maxi dress. A vintage sheet was the only piece of material I had which was large enough to work with but the dress was incredibly simple to make & I love it! I took tips from the tutorial Katy at Sweet Verbena posted and then tweaked it as I went.
Now that it's finished, the question is, do I have a fabulous breezy, hippy maxi-dress in my closet? Or is this simply my debut as Maria von Trapp... turning sheets & curtains into clothes? :D {That's my cousin's reference & he sticks by it most adamantly. The similarity of what I was doing never dawned on me till he said something:)}. I rather love how hippy it turned out... but I have to say that I've had a hard time knowing where to wear it since it's just so different!
What do you think?

LOVE this so MUCH!!! It looks lovely and you look lovely in it and I think you could wear it anywhere and are you wearing lipstick cause I think a shade of reddish-pink would look very well on you and I must say I like the length your hair is at and I hope you didnt get too much cut off when you went for your hair cut and I think this is the longest run on sentence, but that's ok right cause those rules don't really apply to commenting do they? ;)
ReplyDeletewhy thanks love! pretty sure I was wearing lipstick but it's been a while so I forget! haha
ReplyDeleteyes- I love the length of my hair there. I got a whopping THREE inches off and thought it feels so good to have healthy hair again, I am missing the length so much! gahh!! My hair stick doesn't even stay in very well:(
and your run-on sentence was fabulous:)
Beautiful. you're an inspirational soul.
