 I was especially excited to get to tour the Mateus Casa. On our previous trip to Portugal, I had discovered Mateus Rose (a popular slightly fizzy rose' from Portugal, famous for its canteen shaped bottle) and couldn't wait to go back to its roots. The home and grounds are spectacular and were in early spring bloom during our visit. While there, Carroll Lane led us in a mindfulness exercise in the quiet gardens and we also did a little Mateus Rose tasting before receiving a tour of the house. So much spectacular history! Soon after we got back to the states, a famous wedding planner that I follow brought a gorgeous wedding to life on the property and it was so fun to see familiar spaces I had just visited receive the limelight!
