Overflowing....

Here's a peek at the little projects I've had opportunities to work on in the past few weeks. So excited to be creating once more!!

 Two of the frames I've repainted for our room. They used to be shiny burgundy with gold trim and hung in my Grandma's kitchen for years holding photos of the grandkids. Now they are getting a second life with this fresh coat of paint!
 Another Chalkboard globe-- now I have one for our room!
 I found this dress at Goodwill months ago and even though it was too big for me I loved the color so much that I bought it to refashion! But then it sat in my closet forever waiting for me to finish up with school and move on with life;) Two weeks ago I finally pulled it from my closet and started hand-ripping out all the stays and stitches. It was a pretty simple refashion-- detach the bodice from the skirt, hem the waist, and take in the waist to size. I love the result and can't wait to do more refashions!!

 I kept seeing those upcycled t-shirt scarves in boutiques and wanted to try making them myself. My first attempt (since I didn't look up directions- go figure) went a bit awry so I ended up braiding the fabric into a necklace.{above}I love the result though:)
 My second attempt was much better than the first but I'm still working out a few quirks. These are so much fun because you can use plain or patterned t-shirts or mix and match t-shirts and use rosettes or brooches as accessories. {DIY how to coming soon!}
 Thanks to Eleanna, {who made scarves with me} I'm now rather addicted to making fabric rosettes and will do so with just about any ribbon or long scrap of fabric that's lying around;) Those middle rosettes were made out of two ties I cut off the back of a shirt!
 THIS project is one that I've had in mind for well over a year! I first saw something like it at an antique store and couldn't wait until the opportunity presented itself to try making one myself! When I discribed it to my aunt while in Ohio last week, she caught on with my vision and gave me a whole bowl of wine corks to work with! The end result of the wine cork chalkboard that I made for her {as pictured}still needs a few tweaks in it's design but I'm happy with how the first one turned out:) {DIY how to coming soon!}

Not so much a project as much as a search.... but I'm on a roll with finding sea glass! Or I suppose I should call it lake glass since I'm finding it on the lakes;) But it's beautiful nonetheless and I'm loving it! Can't wait to find more on Lake MI next week!

OH!! and biggest project of all currently: Ellyn and I are finally refreshing/redoing our room! Slowly but surely...out with the black & red and in with a whole mixture of both of our styles. Not so much a color theme anymore, just a good combination of what we love:) So very excited!! Before and after photos might be a little while in coming since we're doing things slowly and not all at once but I'll post them eventually:)

  2. These projects are all fantastic! I especially love the skirt.....great job! And the frames....how wonderful to give new life to something that belonged to your grandmother! We will have to get together sometime and work on "projects" together!
