ramblings & discoveries

I'm sitting at the kitchen table in a somewhat 70's inspired outfit listening to Adele/Jack Johnson/Norah Jones and enjoying some lovely dark chocolate. The house is quiet {shocker!} since most everyone took a fieldtrip to the children's museum. {and now I'm remembering my own fieldtrip days...which are far from over really. I love discovering new people.places.things!}
It just hit me yesterday--I'm graduating in 17 days!! weee!!!  These next two weeks are going to be a huge crazy amazing mess of goodness and stress as I wrap up my *final* days of school, help plan and pull together graduation details and hang out with a fantastic group of people as we put on the musical "Pirates of Penzance".
{did I mention that I graduate the same weekend as the musical performances?! ahhhh!! so that weekend will be a pure.whirlwind.}

Throughout this semester I've concocted and discovered so many little projects and things I want to work on and make.... but obviously I haven't had time for them so there's this folder sitting by my night stand that is beginning to bulge with artistic goodness! I **cannot wait**  to dig in after graduation and start creating once more! Though the first thing I plan to do is find a great sketch book so all those present and future projects ideas have a home. I'm no artist but sketching the rough draft of an idea does help. And if I get in an over-achiever mood one day, I might print and insert pictures of projects after they've been completed. Make it a project journal of sorts.:)

Grad prep has been going smoothly.
Grad announcements/invites were finally  designed.printed.created.ribboned.addressed.stamped.sealed&posted.
huge thanks to Mama who worked with me on that and helped so much!
I never realized how much time and energy went into graduating-- and we're doing things as simply as we can too!

oh yes! this weekend is the world premiere of Creed of Gold!! The group of people {mostly college kids} who acted in it and produced it last summer are so incredible and I'm very blessed to know many of them. Watch the trailer, purchase your ticket and be there!
{p.s. I just might need some help because I just might have forgotten until yesterday that I just might need something semi-formal to wear to the premiere. oops. Not usually like me to forget!}

This morning on my way out the door to class I discovered & fell.in.love. with a marvelous little vintage shop that has a pretty swanky little website to go with it!  Shop::Elsie's Blog

The Red Velvet is a shop owned by two sisters, Elsie and Emma, who adore vintage and making all sorts of things and wanted a place where they could share that love with others. Though it may be a bit pricey on some things, it's very reasonable for vintage items in cared.for.and.loved. condition. But if you're a poor student like me, then just soak up all that inspiration goodness-- it's free after all! {okay. I just realized that I'm calling everything "goodness"--and though it totally is, I need to work on switching up my words now and then! teehee!}

 Ohhh and if you thought that Red Velvet was over the top amazing... just wait! There's more! The sisters opened a sweet shop a year and a half ago that is so,so-- breathtaking!! Cutest little shop addition ever. And they sell bubble tea--Yes!! Not to mention those cupcakes that just look super scrumptious:)  {side note: Mama brought home tapioca pearls the other week and I can't wait to try out some bubble tea recipes!} Yep. That's it. I'm packing up right now and road-tripping to Missouri. You with me Mary?!

Happy -almost- Weekend!!

p.p.s. I just counted how many times I used the word grad or graduation= too many! apparently it's on my mind!
