This is yet another post coming before the ones that NEED to be finished and posted....and another *personal* post {I must stop using this blog for personal posts! it's an inspiration blog!} BUT this is some incrediblyfabuloussostinkinamazingmarvelous news that HAS TO BE SHARED RIGHT NOW!
ahem. your attention please, attention please.
MY TWO GIRLIES KELS AND ELEANNA ARE COMING TO VISIT ME!!
people. this.is.HUGE!! Do you know how long we've been planning this? And all of a sudden, in just three days, everything has fallen in place. WOW! I am blown away by what my dear Jesus has done!
Okay. I'll slow down now and give you a lil' history.
So 5 1/2 years ago, I moved... 5 1/2 hours away ...from these dear girls. 'Course at the time, I'd only known either of them a year or two. But over the last several years, those beginning friendships have only become stronger, not weaker, over the distance and they've turned into lifelong friendships. Thus, for the past 5 1/2 years, every time there was the *slightest* possibility of getting either one of them up here for a visit, we'd plan and scramble and ask {maybe beg} like *crazy* trying to work things out but for various reasons it never happened and it was never God's timing. {We still saw each other a few times a year when I'd make it back home but it just never worked out to get them up *here*!}
At the beginning of last school year, when Ellyn and I road-tripped it down there for the weekend, we all began talking about our upcoming graduations {could it really be here already?!} and planning various trips to be there for each-others ceremony or party. Throughout the insaneness of Senior year we kept planning away and waiting. Madly wanting to get together in the meantime but knowing that schedules just wouldn't allow for that. Then February came and we were beginning to pull together ceremony, openhouse, party and Senior showcase dates and as we did so our schedules got even more complicated and unwilling to work with us {as far as arranging a visit before grad}. I won't go into all that mush but basically, it was looking like there was no way a visit here or there would be close to happening until a month after grad because of conflicting dates and our extra-busy lives. SAD!
But I got a call from Kelsey a week ago and we were {again!} discussing the possibility of her coming here for a visit and much needed break. It was looking like it might work out later on in the month but no decisions had been made because we were waiting to hear when my Daddy needed to go down there for business. Then three days ago I got a call from Eleanna saying that her Daddy had two mini-business trips up to Indy this month and she would be free to come along.{!!!} So I checked the dates with my schedule and whatdyaknow?! They were the most free days of my week- both times! That got us squealing for sure!!! Then the next day my Daddy decided that he was going to take the family {sans us 3 oldest b/c of schedules} on a whirlwind trip down to TN to attend the funeral of a good friend's mother. Soooo {and like I said before- any mention of someone heading down there gets my planning wheels going!} after asking my parents about the possibility of Kelsey coming home with them in two days, I called Eleanna to make sure it was okay with her Daddy if Kels road home with them after their visit here in a week. THEN! I called Kels to see if she would be able to work it out and come now instead of later in the month. {she was rather overwhelmed for a sec.. which I totally understand. Pickin' up and leaving for a week with just two days notice is no easy thing! Especially since she had to make bunches of calls all of a sudden to reschedule band practice and cancel shows (that she would cancel a show to come see me?!! wow- I have incredible friends!)}
Just this evening, when I checked my phone after working out, there was a voicemail from her saying YES! she could come!! Weeeeeeeeee!!
Phew! That was longer than I thought it would be. Now I'm off to shower, finish the laundry, put some fresh sheets on beds, vaccuum and clean up the kitchen. {Those little duties that unfortunately don't get done by themselves when you have to be gone all day}
Thank you dear Lord for your spectacular and ever-surprising blessings!
