mary and i met my senior year of high school… and if you've been following this blog for any time at all, you've probably seen her face in posts documenting our adventures the past 4 years! we first bonded over shared love for travel, decor & a quirky sense of fashion but quickly found that our mutual love for the Lord is what has really cemented our friendship! guys have come & gone for both of us in those 4 years but when aaron came around, it was obvious something was different! and i know everyone always says that… but, well, you just know! what's funny is that i knew him first & had actually met him a few years earlier through daddy. i definitely never put the two of them together in my mind but when aaron started pursuing mary, it seemed to fit! of course, i was as skeptical as any good friend should be at first (obviously my expectations are really high for my friends;)) but he quickly proved himself worthy of her!
mary is one of the strongest people i know and i greatly admire her steadfast faith & focus on eternity. she is always ready for an adventure yet at the same time is completely content in each season & place the Lord has her. as mary & aaron make this step forward together, i'm confident she will continue to build him up & be the biggest encourager & friend he could ask for! a few weeks before this shower, i got to drive up and interview aaron for a little video we showed! not only was it fun to get to surprise mary with his side of the story concerning their relationship but it gave me a small chance to get to know 'this guy aaron' a little better:) it's easy to see that he's going to lead her well & keep her laughing throughout all their married years!
also, i just have to say how grateful i am to beth for partnering with me in hosting this shower. i couldn't have done it on my own & it was so fun to get to collaborate with her!! thanks goes to her for the second half of images in this post as well!
what an honor to celebrate mary & aaron! cannot believe their wedding is only two weeks away!
