Refashion: Dress to Skirt

It didn't take me long to start working on creative projects once I got home & I am *loving* how this easy-peasy refashion turned out!

When Eleanna & I see each other, we will sometimes give each other a bag of clothes that didn't work for us... thinking that the other person might be able to wear it better... and that's how I acquired this dress. Both Eleanna & her sister Susannah had loved it but it just didn't fit either of them well and they thought it might work for me since I'm shorter. When it fit me just as awkwardly, I decided that it was time to alter it since the problem was obviously with the dress!
This was the easiest refashion I've ever done! AllI had to do was rip out the stitches to detach the top portion from the skirt, shorten the zipper and then stitch the waist closed. I thought about taking it in to make it high waisted but then realized that by leaving it as is, I could have the best of both worlds! It fits perfectly on my hips as is and if I want it high waisted, a few extra folds held by safety pins does the trick! And the sash covers any of safety pins/folds at the waist.

Sus & El-- both of you are welcome to come steal it anytime you want to:)

{p.p.s. you can kinda see my African TOMS tan in the last picture}
