it's WEDDING DAY for this beautiful friend!! 
i'm sitting at the dining room table surrounded by beautiful women of the Lord, laughing over love stories & enjoying a delicious breakfast prepared by our hosts. taking a slow morning to soak up this morning with sarah before she walks down the aisle to greg later this afternoon. sharing life with these women this week has been such a joy & encouragement! 
here's some images from wednesday when we had the privilege of celebrating sarah at her bachlorette party:) our kayaking & hiking adventures got totally rained out but instead we got to enjoy a relaxing indoor picnic & afternoon of conversation.
in the evening we fit 5 girls in a tiny bathroom to clean up and then met some more friends at trader's point loft for dinner. such a wonderful evening.  the week has been such a joy celebrating sarah ruth and her soon to be groom.  we have been honored to share in their joy. so excited for their beautiful wedding today!!

Maybe you're like me and this scene always made you think of Cinque Terre on the northern coast of Italy but little did I know that Positano is THE dreamy, colorful cliff scape of the Italian Coast! We skipped the Hike of the Gods this day and instead spent hours exploring Positano's little alleyways and that was truly the best decision! Even though it was very overcast, the colors were still evident at every turn. One thing I've noticed as a photographer is that the majority of images we view when we google places like Positano or Cinque Terre have been edited dramatically to make them seem more vibrant and the colors more saturated. If you've viewed those images prior to actually visiting the location, reality can feel a little dull. So I've done my best to portray colors as I actually saw them-- still incredibly beautiful yet more true to the faded and unwashed hues we witnessed in person. Amalfi Coast | Amalfi

As we continued our tour along the Amalfi Coast, we discovered that main town on the coast (known as the pearl of the coast) is also simply named Amalfi! Home to the 11th century Cathedral of Saint Andrew (hello amazing striped stonework!!) with amazing frescos, mosaics and golden ceilings, the city carries more than it's weight when it comes to showcasing Medieval era architecture. We took a boat ride one morning to get from where we were staying in Maiori to Amalfi-- with the sun warm on our faces, we witnessed spectacular views of the coast from the water and learned about many of the structures built into the cliffs. Then we spent the day touring St Andrew's, winding through the the narrow streets and alleys and taking in the hustle and bustle of the city's tourist season. i'm not sure how to put into words all the feelings from this day. it was very surreal to be participating in all the elements of a event that has become such a part of my life the last 6 years. except this time, instead of viewing it through a camera lens, i was taking everything in with my own heart & soul. one of the biggest gifts of this day was feeling so absolutely present as each moment came & went. most brides and grooms have always told me what a blur their wedding day was but both brian and i talked afterwards about feeling so connected and present-- and that was largely due to the people who surrounded us.  both of us got to spend the morning with friends who have helped shape us into who we are. these are people who have walked the hard & good with us and commit to continuing this journey with us.  when b & i chose to get married in memphis (as a halfway point for our families), we knew it presented a unique dynamic since neither o...
