the day after the fourth of july, ashley and i set off for chicago! we picked up jessica on the way and spent the next 2 hours with windows down & hair blowing until we arrived in wrigleyville. jessica's boyfriend was waiting to pick her up and then sarah met us with the exciting news that she had the day off work and could go exploring with us!
so we hopped on the metro and headed to downtown chicago. we spent the day walking around and exploring, grabbing lunch at a little italian cafe, stopping by millennium park and the waterfront. then after a bit of a roundabout with dinner reservations, we were just walking by cantina laredo on our way to the metro and decided to see if it was any good. it ended up being *amazing* and thanks to half price small plates, the three of us had a gourmet dinner for $15!
then we took the metro back to where our cars were parked... and walked to roscoe village for some gelato at paciugo to end our day.
exploring chicago in 85 degree summer weather vs. 18 degree winter weather makes a huge difference and it was so much fun to see & enjoy some of the same places in a whole new light!
next up > our second day of exploring : wicker park & wrigley field
