i'm really on top of trying new & unique restaurants when i'm traveling but recently i realized that there are bunches of great little places around indy that i've yet to discover! so i was really excited when our group of leaders from tuesday night bible study decided to get dinner and we had an excuse to try bluebeard's! it's right next to calvin fletchers (a great little coffee shop) in fletcher place (right down the road from fountain square) so it grabbed my interest a while ago and it's just taken me a long time to get there!
johannah helped us get our bible study off the ground this summer while she was interning in indy and we wanted to spend some time with her before she left town. i wish molly could have joined us but it was still a fun evening of great conversation and new experiences!
we tried their melon salad first which was AMAZING! we all loved the crazy mix of sweet, salty, tangy & spicy flavors & textures! it contained watermelon, honey dew melon, cantaloupe, coppa salumi, spicy curtido, marcona almonds, pecorina pepato & was topped with a lemongrass ginger champagne vinaigrette.
then we shared a main course of pork schnitzel. it was a little different than what we were expecting but still yummy:) roasted brussels sprouts & fingerlings, curtido & brown butter caper sauce.
oh and our dinner bill was brought to us in a antique book-- shakespeare: king henry iv part i
a new fro-yo place called cultured swirl was right down the road so we quickly stopped by there before heading different directions. i was smitten with their wooden spoons & window swings and their organic fro-yo was delicious!
