the beginning of this vacation paid tribute to what vacations were like when i was growing up. we would always stay with friends/family during our travels and do lots of field trips to museums & other educational experiences. this first week we went to daddy's hometown of canton, ohio and stayed with his best-friend-from-highschool's-mother for several days while touring many of the historic sites.
our first day we went to see the mckinley monument which is gorgeous! daddy never did this growing up, but we were told that a favorite past time of local kids it to take wax paper and slide down the railings of the steps. so of course we took a roll of wax paper and tried it out before exploring the museum:)
