just Jesus.

wow.
how do i even begin to start sharing what Jesus has been teaching me this week?
how do i begin to share in what beautiful ways He has answered prayers?

the truth is- i can't.

but He. HE who has taught me much & answered those prayers.
i can talk about Him.

His love. i'm just on the edges of grasping how expansive it is.
a love that invites me in. that turns me from ashes to beauty. that gave the ultimate sacrifice.
bore suffering & death on a cross. for me. for you.
oh that the sacrifice & love would be made even more real to me.
that it would consume me & overflow to others.
to have HIS eyes & not see the dirt & baggage of others. to know how to serve them
and show them the love of Christ.
i want to learn His overwhelming grace & forgiveness.
turn the other cheek as He did.
return hurt with love. hold no grudge.
see with His eyes.
love with His heart.
it's all simple truths & simple thoughts. yet at the same time, they are magnificent.
and  many times, i need to be reminded of the simple things.
because they bring me back to the cross.

"who is like you, O Lord, among the gods? who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders?" {exodus 15:11}

within myself i can't be like Jesus. but with God's strength i can.
 i believe with my whole heart that God has a beautiful purpose for each of us.
we were made in HIS image, yet all different. {doesn't that just create a beautiful picture of God?}
but He didn't just create us & then leave us to figure it all out on our own.
He gave us himself.
to be our greatest confidante during struggles.
to encourage our hearts & bring us HIS peace.
to teach us how to see the world with His eyes, love with His love,
forgive & share His grace.
how beautiful is that?!!

who is like you Lord? who was & is to come?
"O Lord, God Almighty, who is like you? You are might, O Lord, and your faithfulness surrounds you.  -Psalm 89:9

{my current background photo taken on our recent trip to louisville. i love the incredible peace & calm that the cool colors give. when i've spent too long editing & working, looking at this helps to clear my mind. His creation is a masterpiece.}

  1. Thanks for sharing these thoughts Emily. I love them, I love you and I love our Jesus Christ for who He is and what He's done for both of us. :)
