Jabeth | a wee one

Since leaving Uganda a few weeks ago, I have kept up with Amacet's blog that Els updates. It's been a way for me to stay connected  with the babies we spent so much time with while in Soroti.
But when I checked it just a little while ago, the story of baby Jabeth's sudden death was not at ALL what I was expecting to read! Nor did Els think she would be writing a story like it since Jabeth was so healthy!
{Read the story in it's entirety HERE | I appreciate Els's perspective so much!}

Jabeth was the first little one I held when we went to Amacet that first day. He was the tiny one. The baby with the feeding tube. When I looked at him in my arms that first time, I heard Jesus speaking in my heart, saying, "I prepared you for this. Before you even knew you would be coming, I was preparing you. And I brought you here to love these children with all my love."

Knowing now that he will never grow to be a healthy little boy, or a man, is hard. Yet at the same time I have incredible peace about his passing. This was God's will; his perfect plan. In Jabeth's short life, he had more love poured onto him than many other Ugandan children will ever receive. And as Els said, "[he was] accepted by his heavenly Father, while his earthly father denied him. JESUS has WON the victory over death!!"
