this precious life.

josh garrels has been my favorite music artist for a few years now and i got to hear him live twice which was phenomenal ( here &   here ). sometime last year, through him, i first heard about the trio, beautiful eulogy . even though i spend the majority of my time in the 'hood, rap still hasn't become my music of choice… but through these guys and my attempt to get back into a regular running routine, i've found that i can appreciate it in good doses:) i saw last minute that beautiful eulogy was going to be in indy so ellyn and i made a sister date night of it and went to see them live. they were opened by 6 way st. & givens  who both held their own… but b.e. was definitely best of all. and my favorite part was the fact that one of the guys spent a solid 20 minutes sharing the most beautiful explanation of the gospel i've ever heard before closing out the concert with one last song. so good.

i made a little promise to myself at the beginning of warm weather that i would picnic often-- whether that meant just taking today's lunch outside & eating with siblings or meeting up  with friends & sharing conversation over something more elaborate. some will get documented by camera & others won't but each one will be special in it's own way:)   it's also been on my bucket list for years to picnic at a winery and this one happens to be right around the corner from my house!  liss and i had planned an overnight anyway so when i heard that there would be live music at the winery that night, we decided to take a picnic & check it out! the band ended up not being very good, and shall we say, just a bit awkward, but it was a gorgeous evening to get to spend together and we came away with a funny story:) we also took the opportunity to celebrate her birthday since she'll be spending her birthday in the dominican again this year! what a beautiful lif...

somehow i completely overlooked sharing these images. josh garrels came "home" to indy for just one show & it was a beautiful night of stories, friends & music. i met mary there and then also ran into so many more beautiful souls including alyssa! such a sweet surprise!  he showed his documentary film > the sea in between & then gave us a full concert accompanied by mason jar music . it was like a double feature... only better!  i so appreciate his heart for Jesus & the grace & joy he shows through his music.

i drove ellyn down to louisville last weekend & then took some time to work & brainstorm at please & thank you . new coffee drinks, records, soup w/ biscuits & a bright coffee shop atmosphere always motivate me to be productive:) this time around i tried the mexican latte & goodness was it yummy! their tomato bisque was pretty near perfect too:)  a few of these images i pulled from the archives & were taken on my visit there last year (hence the reflection of a woman in summer clothes in the first picture! ha! and they've also replace the front counter with another glass display case for pastries & other treats) ^^ my workspace before i sprawled my stuff over half the table:) ^^
