Several mornings we woke to hot air balloons drifting across our rooftop. Though the days were warm, we were quickly reminded of the mountain climate by how cold it got at night. A few mornings, by the time we woke up, it was 35-40 degrees! It made for brisk yoga sessions, that's for sure!
We didn't make it to the main market until our last day but the hustle & bustle surrounding it proved that it wasn't just a tourist attraction. Locals shopped for necessities and visitors shopped for souvenirs. Beyond the main market is the artist market and it went on and on for the better part of a mile. Winding through alleyways between buildings. Color, textures and patterns everywhere.
This post also holds an assortment of images I snapped here and there throughout our wanderings- it was a feast for the eyes in every direction. The amount of artisans in San Miguel alone is astounding and the evidence of it is everywhere you turn.
Due to complications with our uber driver, we ended up missing our flight out and spent an extra night in Queretaro knocking out as much work as possible before getting back to our families.
Eager to come back here soon & bring Brian to experience it!
