murano island is where all of the famous venetian glass is blown.
we arrived too late in the day to see them at work
but their beautiful art overflowed every shop & filled the window displays.
as the sun began to set, we wandered in and out of little stores along the canals.
many of the tourists had already left for the day so
the island was quiet and we mixed with the locals.
after purchasing a few gifts & taking photos to our hearts content,
we caught the vaporetto (water bus) towards the rialto bridge on the main canal. (up next!)
