italy twenty-thirteen | scooteroma vespa tour

in a list of recommendations that my friend sent me, she listed this couple who did vespa tours around roma! i was intrigued and looked them up, discovering that she (annie) is from america but married an italian (giovanni) after living in roma for a few years!
from their online presence, they seemed super fun and i really wanted an opportunity to meet them!
then the idea came to me to see if they were in need of updated portraits or pictures for their websites! and this is how it came to be that we all got to collaborate & work with/for eachother! after exploring the campo de fiori that morning, aunt laura and i met up with annie & giovanni in trastevere and i did a mini-session with them. then we hopped on the vespas and scootered towards the city centre.
annie gave us an extensive history lesson, explaining all of the sites as we rode & stopped here & there.
we got to see the forum, paletine hill, colosseum, circus maximus, roman baths, and SO much more. plus they took us up a few hills that gave us spectacular views of the roma! we did some more portraits & vespa beauty shots here & there & finished our tour near piazza navona.
we had such a marvelous morning hanging out with annie & giovanni! they are so full of zest, know their stuff & give fabulous tours! you *must* check them out if you are ever in roma!!
doing a vespa tour around roma saved our poor legs a considerable amount of walking and allowed us to see so much more in our limited time frame!
oh and it totally *made our day* when upon our return to rome (after spending the weekend in venice), we promptly ran into annie who was scootering near the colosseum!! way to make us feel like locals!

  1. These photos are absolutely stunning! Me and a friend also did a tour with Giovanni and Ippazio in August and it was such a highlight! Although Rome has a way of enticing you all on its own :)
