italy twenty thirteen | morning walk + campo de fiori

since we had such few days in italy, we were making the most of our time
by staying out late & getting up early.
our bodies weren't such a fan but we got to rest on the train trips so it evened out:)
before starting our tour of roma one morning,
we set out to explore the campo de fiori market & get breakfast.
the city was just beginning to stir and the bars were serving croissants & espresso
as the children traipsed past on their way to school.
here and there littered remains of the last night's festivities
and shop keepers filled buckets of water from the fountains to wash away the dust.

the market was still setting up when we arrived and we
browsed through the fresh produce, bottles of wine, olive oil & limoncello
and bags of bulk grains, dried fruit & pasta.
we ducked into one of the bars lining the piazza and stood enjoying
chocolate & creme croissants fresh from the oven, washed down with hot espresso.
then we purchased a cup of fresh fruit from an older couple and sat
on the center monument  eating & watching the activity around us.
before long, we checked our watches and realized it
was time to head back to get ready to meet annie & giovanni!
that's up next >> a photoshoot & vespa tour with the sweetest couple in roma!
