italy twenty-thirteen | arrival

after 26+ hours of travel through many different airports, we finally landed in rome and found the right train & tram to take us to trastevere where we were staying for two nights. two of the things i love most about europe is the quality of their food & how many effective modes of public transportation they have. we counted up and found that we used at least 9 of them in a 6 day period- bicycles & cars not included!
after dragging our suitcases from the tram stop to our flat across uneven cobblestone streets and then up 4 flights of stairs, we were pooped! our hostess welcomed us with water & lots of info about the surrounding area and then left us to explore the flat, change our clothes & freshen up. a little bit later, energy semi-restored, we  headed out to explore trastevere-- cameras in hand.
below you'll see how tired we were, the freshness of our flat and the views it afforded!
up next, trastevere!
