saturday morning in chicago started out with dinkel's donuts. well actually, it first started off with sarah dropping ashley and i off at the local library on her way to work so that we could print our cubs tickets:) then we grabbed some dinkle's & munched on them outside while i people-watched, ashley did her make-up using a phone (we work with what we've got, you know:)) and we discussed what we should do that day. we decided to explore wicker park where we tried a new drink at a wacky coffee shop call wormhole, found some crazy deals at urban o, ate feta fries & pita chips at covo and explored till we thought our feet would fall off... stopping in at the gallery cafe to wait for our bus. oh, and i showed her the spectacular walgreens (you didn't know one existed did you? go see for yourself!).
then we made our way back to wrigleyville, stuffed into the metro like sardines, to watch a cubs game curtesy of her brother! it was a sticky, hot day but definitely worth it to experience wrigley field AND see the cubs win! pretty sure we're their lucky charm;)
somehow we made it through the mass of cheerful, drunken people (cheerful only because the cubs won, mind you:)) and managed to catch the right metro to lakeview to meet sarah for a yummy dinner at frasca's. for desert we drove to this little european cafe sarah had heard about called julius meinl... and it turned out to be just perfect! the sun was leaving gorgeous clouds in the sky and as we walked through the doors, we were serenaded by two gentlemen... one on the violin and one on the hammer dulcimer! gorgeous music!
p.s. hi, my name is emily, and i'm really good at taking/sharing too many pictures:)
