Upcycle | Holiday Necklace & Bracelet Tutorials

 i'm kinda on a glamorous gold kick. something to do with winter. and the holidays. and just how beautiful sparkly gold is:)
here are two tutorials to add a little glam to your Christmas party dress!
i've probably said this before but...what I absolutely love about tutorials is how they are just a basic idea or concept that *YOU* can change, personalize & add to as much as you like! so have fun with these. and if yours turns out completely different than mine- that's totally okay!
i used a cheap statement necklace picked up at a yardsale for .50 and an old bracelet chain I had laying around.

Necklace
Materials:
any kind of simple chain necklace or old statement necklace | spray paint {optional} | fabric scraps | buttons or beads | needle & thread | hot glue gun{optional}

 1} If you are spray painting, cover the areas you don't want painted with tape. Spray and let dry for 20 minutes {more or less}
 2} For the flowers, click on the names of each one to follow the link for a basic tutorial.
to achieve a yo-yo that isn't completely semetrical {like the red one on the right} simply use a square or odd shaped scrap of fabric instead of a circle.
When the yo-yo is finished, you can add scraps of fabric, beads or buttons to the center using a needle and thread
You can either use hot glue or stitches to keep this one together.

3} ONCE your flowers are finished use your hot glue gun to secure them to your necklace. Or use a needle and thread like I did--- it really depends on how your necklace is made. If you are securing the flower to a chain, I would suggest using needle and thread.

 Bracelet
Materials:
bracelet chain | strip of fabric or braided lace | fabric scraps & beads/buttons for flower

1} Your strip of fabric or braided lace should be 2 or 3 inches longer than your bracelet chain. Weave it through your chain and then knot at both ends.

2} Use any of the tutorials above for the flower and then add fabric,buttons &/or beads as you like. {I made a  yo-yo flower and added lace & buttons}

3} Secure the rosette to the bracelet by stitching it to the fabric and chain.
