// princeton prom //

just one week ago, the three of us girls were sitting around our table eating breakfast with jonquil and talking all things prom. "you're not going to your senior prom?!", we gasped. "but jonquil, you're a senior. you HAVE to go to prom!"  as we talked through it and heard her reasons, we realized that we knew several others who weren't going to their senior proms either. "what if we threw our own prom here next week?", said tara.  and that, friends, is how the princeton prom was born.  actually, we didn't even decide until monday whether or not we were actually doing it so technically we planned prom in less than 5 days.  but thanks to some amazing people (taylor, schniepp, tasia, tara & devin) things came together REAL QUICK!  that's how we roll y'all:) we had a very diverse age range of people attend our prom (including 2 three year olds and several people well past high school), neighbors stopped by at random ...

It's time for another one of those posts where I share links to little bits of great things. Stately Sandwiches -- design student Kelly Pratt has set out on a journey to create, photograph & eat a sandwich best representing each of the 50 states. Things Organized Neatly- - I was quite a neat freak when I was young... always organizing things everywhere I went. Right down to the jell-o bins at the grocery store {no joke!}. I've become more balanced about it over time but I still love the images shared on this blog:) Verily Magazine -- modest fashion, home, life & all things girly. Not that we really need another magazine like this... but this one is striving to share great fashion ideas in modest ways so it's at least worth taking a look at! Tartelette - a lovely food blog. Food photography isn't my specialty, but I adore seeing other peoples work. Oh and trying the recipes is fun too;) I See a Different You - stumbled upon this African fas...

About once a month, Thursday becomes my project day. I never plan it that way... but maybe it's a combination of the house being empty & quiet {kids are at classes} and the fact that I usually have most of  my work/must-do's done by Thursday so the day is somewhat free. Here's a round-up of recent projects-- lots of clothing refashions because I hit up GW on their '50% off entire store' day a few weeks ago:) I always come home with at least 2-3 things I love that need some TLC. Enjoy!  this skirt was many sizes too big for me in the waist and hit at an awkward length. Since it already had pleats & a zipper, all I had to do was add two extra pleats in the back to make it my size. Much better! We're goin' vintage 80's here! Never thought I'd be pulling off stuff my parents wore when they were my age but I love this skirt! The print is fun and it's super comfy. Oh, and it has pockets! Score! This one was  big in the waist as well b...
