evening light is irresistible.  and a change of scenery while house sitting is always lovely too:) "for the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. in his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. the seas is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. o come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker." psalm 95: 3-6

his compassion.

the weekend after new year's, i had a last minute opportunity to spend a few days in franklin. i didn't get together with lots of people like i usually do but instead spent a fairly quiet weekend relaxing, chatting & laughing with a few friends, visiting new coffee shops, working on some projects, seeing les mis {for the 3rd time:p}, being spiritually refreshed, swing dancing & taking lots of pictures. i didn't realize it until i was driving home sunday afternoon, but that weekend was just what i needed before jumping into everything that 2013 holds! it gave me time to refocus on what needed to prioritize my time in this season of life. spending 11ish hours in the car by yourself gives you a whole lot of time to think... and one word that kept echoing in my mind was 'compassion' . what is it? what does it look like? how did jesus express it in his ministry on earth? how does he show us compassion now? and also. knowing that i'm a very practical per...

Behind the Design: Ryan McCoy

This feature has been a long time coming but summer is...well...summer and it is sometimes hard to find time to put things like this together.  Ryan designed and created a prom dress to be entered in JoAnn's Prom Dress Design contest this spring. And thought I've never had the opportunity to meet Ryan, I heard all about this dress he designed for my friend so I just had to interview him! It's also a collaboration with Susannah from Susannah Flautt Photography who provided the images-- thanks girl!  1. Tell us a little about yourself--  My name in Ryan Phillip McCoy, I am 18 years of age and the second son of Randy and Patti McCoy. I strive to devote myself mind, body and soul, completely and totally to Christ, my Lord, savior and friend. I enjoy a wide variety of activities, some more masculine than others, and some on the more artistic side. But what I enjoy more than most things is a good conversation. I enjoy talking to someone who can make me think, and challenge...

Soooooo get ready for an overload of spring purtiness!lovliness!marvelousness!gorgeousness!beautifulness!{simply some take-your-breath-away blossoms designed by the Creator himself.}*sigh*. I love Him. A spring garden is a painter's artwork a poet's words and a lover's heart. A spring garden dances in the rain, while umbrellas open up like flowers. Gardens shimmer in dewy mornings and whisper sweet nothings in the afternoon The earth is painted with cheer and colors sing their songs. Butterflies kiss the petals as eyes meet under the open sky. Dandelions & daffodils parade in the sun. Painters, poets, and lovers see magic come alive A spring garden is a daydream, It's majestic & melodious, and blooms in our hearts. It pulls at heartstrings and makes the world smile at the sun. See more images by clicking here {Images: {Em}ily- yes. that means me:)} {Poem pulled from Ruche's spring lookbook . Author unknown}
